Mary Magdalene Collier  was charged with Aggravated Statutory Rape after police were contacted about the sexual encounters. Some of them may have occurred at Collier’s Cordova home. However, police said the teen’s mother interrupted the most recent meeting at his house.

According to court records, the boy’s mother found a completely naked Collier hiding in her son’s closet. Police said Collier and the boy admitted to carrying on.


“Oh my gosh,” said neighbor Jack Arnold. He recalled similar crimes across the country, including those involving female teachers and teenage boys. Many seem to consider those crimes less serious than those involving underage female victims.


Mary Collier’s daughter would not reveal how her mom and the 16 year-old might have met. She only said they would get past the charges. “We’re going to get through them,” said Carshawna Collier. “She’s going to pull through it,” she added. Mary Collier was still in jail at last check with a bond of $50,000.
