An Albuquerque elementary school teacher is in serious trouble and is facing criminal charges.
He's accused of 'sexting' one of his former students.
The student is 11 years old and it was her father who caught her texting and receiving the inappropriate messages. KOB Eyewitness News 4 first started looking into the case early Tuesday after getting tipped off about it by a parent.
Jacob Lawler, 32, an elementary school teacher at Edward Gonzales, was arrested Tuesday morning. He's accused of texting graphic and sexually explicit messages and photos to the former student who is now 11 years old. At a press conference at APS headquarters, APS police said the 'sexting' was likely going on for more than two years between Lawler and the girl.
According to a police report, Lawler asked the girl to send him nude pictures of herself. Police say Lawler admitted to sending some pictures of his genitals to his former student. The girl's father caught her texting the teacher and he called police. Lawler has been a teacher at Edward Gonzales since 2005.
He is now on paid leave pending an internal investigation. Lawler is facing several felony charges, including criminal sexual communication with a child. Counselors will be on hand at the school Wednesday for students and staff who need assistance.

What I am disgusted about is that he probably knew he had an inappropriate attraction to little girls and he still went into primary education as a career. Talk about motive...it would be like an alcoholic deciding to live next to a liquor store.

and while we bashing the teacher who needs to be on the fastest bus to hell, let me take the time out to say that i'd be beating the breaks off of my kid right now for some shit like that. how grown do you think your ass is that you talking to someone damn near four times your age. the hell you know about sex at 9 years old?

She knows what this man and possibly others have taught her. Everybody who molest children arent violent about it. They seduce these little girls (and boys). The children learn to think it's okay they may decide they like the attention- they have a "boyfriend". These bastards know what they're doing. Ask R. Kelly.
