Sacramento, CA (The Weekly Vice) - Ka Yang, a 29-year-old California woman was jailed Wednesday after she allegedly killed her 6-week-old baby in a microwave back in March.

According to Sacramento Police, officers arrived at Yang's home on March 17 to find a six-week-old baby that had died of apparent fourth-degree burns. Investigators did not make an arrest at the time, but conducted a three-month long investigation to determine the most likely cause of death.

Coroners determined that the child had succumb to extensive thermal injuries and fourth-degree burns. Investigators studied three previous cases that involved children who had been burned in a microwave in determining a cause of death.

Police do not yet have a motive in the case and have not yet evaluated her mental condition. Yang was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of murder and assault resulting in the death of a child. Bail has not yet been set in the case.
