DURHAM -- Brinton Marcell Millsap apparently shot three women and himself Friday night because of a rumor he had been exposed to a sexually transmitted disease.
"He did think that was the case, but it was a lie," said Anita D. Baker, the mother of one of the slain women, Alexandria J. Baker Pierce.
Pierce, 23, a rising senior at UNC Greensboro, made an impromptu trip to Durham on Friday to tell Millsap in person that the report that she had given him a disease was not true, Baker said. She left Greensboro in her green Honda Accord about 9 p.m. and picked up her friends, Amesha Alia Page-Smith, 24, and Adrianne Celeste Stevens, 22, both of Durham.
All three would later lie dead inside the car along a vacant stretch of N.C. 54 in Research Triangle Park. Durham County Sheriff Worth Hill said Millsap fatally shot the three women then shot himself once. The car and bodies were discovered just after midnight Saturday.
The four had known one another since middle school, but Millsap, 23, was not part of the women's regular circle, friends and family said.
Millsap told his brother, Dustin Lyons, 27, of Durham, that he had had sex with Pierce the weekend before the killings.
Lyons said his brother was struggling with lupus, an immunodeficiency disease, and was "outraged" when he heard the rumor that Pierce had given him herpes, a sexually transmitted disease characterized by outbreaks of sores in the genital area, Lyons said. The infection can last in the body indefinitely.

I really think our society now exposes young people to way too much adult interaction but at the same time they lack the mental stability to handle adult concepts. Half the US has some form of herpes that's not enough to shoot anybody. If this negro was going to kill himself why take the other 2 innocent women with him. Just nonsense all around.

yea i remember this story on the news here...this was soooo sad, those mothers buried their children at such an early age. I always tell young girls, that you need to watch and know who you become involved with romantically. nearly every week, there is a woman getting killed by her current or ex boyfriend/ husband. this needs to stop.

He fucked some random girl at a cookout w/o a condom. A girl he obviously hadnt talked to since.KNOWING his immune system was compromised already plus he had no evidence of herpes. He could have at least waited for the first outbreak geez. I dont understand why she felt she needed to talk to him in person. She could have texted him "I dont have herpes". That should have been the end of it.

This is why women shouldn't play games with men by lying and saying you gave him something. Some people are very unstable. I'm not saying she got what she deserved but she shouldn't have said that to him, he was already suffering from lupus. I have also seen women and men get they ass beat just for burning someone.

sad,i went to high school with one of the girls killed. one of his FEMALE friends said that the chick he was "involved" with had herpes, a lie that she pulled out her ass. bitches always doing something, damn.
