Wow ok.. whose daughter is this??
I don't have any tattoos..not a one. I want to get 1...just 1, in an inconspicuous place. The tattoo will be a representation of my love of music, prose and my daughter. I am 31 years old, I am a professional, meaning I work in a professional work environment. I have two degrees and almost finished with my third. I have a mortgage because I have a house and I pay insurance premiums, etc.
Soooooo..with that being said, do you think that this child will ever have the same? Sadly, no...Not because she doesn't have an education, she may have, not because she can't afford insurance, Im sure she has at least something...but it will because society will look at her as a degenerate. I for certain am all about expressing yourself...I happen to be attracted to a man with a lip piercing and tattoos on his face, neck and shoulders...arms, stomach, etc....but I still don't really get this trend.
They say tattoos are addictive...I see that it is. Just like any addiction, it will eventually cost you alot in your life..it will take away your means of providing for yourself, etc. I just don't get it. Why do people do this to themselves...
I guess im just old and corny...but ill be old and corny with a roof over my head and if i get sick, ill be able to go a hospital and hopefully get well and have my stay paid for. I'm long winded and preachy..but meh..just my opinions and observations. I would give the gal a chance..but like I said, 95% of people will not.

I have 28 tattoos and work in a professional environment. Just don't place on your face and below the elbows and you can still dress for this type of environment. I don't understand why people still see tattoos and believe that person is uneducated. Tattoos have nothing to do with education. There are plenty of dummies with degrees. Education is beyond the classroom.

Thank you Hmmm. I believe you may be the only one who actually READ what I typed. This happens when people "scan" read and only pick up a few words here and there. This is how the media fucks up people's quotes..this is how people get fired from government jobs...REMEMBER the lady that got fired from a halfway quote? Like you said, education goes beyond the class room...and you'd think people would have common sense...but unfortunately, it's not always that common =0).
If you READ what I typed, you will see that I am speaking from another..well probably majority of people's point of view. If you saw your doctor with tattoos all over his or her's face...would you to them or better yet, would you let your child go to them. Don't front and say you would..think about it. I'm sure that doctor may be a brilliant physician, but we wouldn't ever know.
Face tattoos are just stupid, I'm sorry...anywhere else where they can be covered, is a different story..but the face..poor life decisions.

One of her first comments was "I have two degrees" "do you think this child would....."........like I said education has nothing to do with tattoos. You judge this women's education level by her appearance. You don't know if she has a degree or not. I currently work for a very well-educated professor. If you saw him you would never know due to a nervous breakdown after his wife died. I read your post. You pass a lot of serious judgements on people you don't know. This sight is for entertainment only. It should be light hearted and maybe you can get a daily dose of laughter. Stop with the 187 page post and get the entitled stick out your ass.....

B-Town, once I take the stick out of my ass, please suck on it. You want me to argue with you about something I did not type and I shall not. I believe that you may have some issues as well...with tattoos..being judged based on education, etc, etc....so I will not go in...........so again, I say, read what I typed, read it well and then come back. If you don't it is alright..but one thing I do hate, is to be misunderstood and it's obvious that you have a penchant for that. How miserable the people around you must be..because it seems as though once you get an idea in your head, you do not turn loose from it. Oh and I say child...not to belittle anyone, it's just a bad habit, because I 'tend to feel a lot older than many folk..cannot help it. Good night, sweet stuff =0*

It depends on what industry you work in.
I'm a 3D Animator/Illustrator with multiple degrees and have a full back tattoo and have worked with people with tattoos/piercings like this. A conservative 9-5 might not fit for her, but somewhere, some place will. Times are different and certain careers have alternative guidelines, rules, dress codes, etc. Can't say she'll not have those things because of the way she looks.

SamIam, I understand that...I was saying that , me personally, would not have an issues with her, but you know as well as I know that others will stereotype her. I'm not speaking on where she could work, because I guarantee she most likely doesn't have a conventional 9 to 5. So, in that aspect, she probably will have to work a whole lot harder than most people these days...in the middle of this recession and job drought, to get a great job, with great benefits and etc. What I am saying is, she will not have an opening chance if she actually wanted to get a regular 9 to 5, yanno?
Also, what im getting at is this....there is an overwhelming trend with younger people getting crazy tattoos all over themselves nowadays, because I believe a lot of them just live in the moment, not looking towards the future, yanno? I don't know if they realize that these things are permanent and that what you do in your past effects your future tremendously.
Also, you said you have a back tattoo..which means it's at least 99% of time covered up, right?
Times are not that different sweetheart and thats where inlies the problem. We want to believe that times.."they are a changin'" but sadly, it looks at though things are getting worse. We have people that are more openly and blatantly racist just because we have a Black President. So do you think those same people, who usually are the ones that will be handing out jobs..will want her working for them, in association with them, near them? Yeah it's fucked up that they think like that, because they in reality, thinking that they are so smart and wise, are the most ignorant and stupid people walking this earth..but sadly, look who is in charge, ya dig?
That's my argument...im not saying its cool to be like that...to be so close minded, but it is what it is..

Let's face it, this chile probably ain't gon' be paying any taxes. An education above a G.E.D. is really reaching aspiration wise, and it is likely she won't have a 401k. So sad that a decision she (or it because I ain't really sure) is making at this young dumb age will affect her for the rest of her life. DUMMY!
